Here’s the visuals from my latest make for Minerva – the Merchant and Mills Trapeze Dress in Michael Millar poplin. For the backstory, hop over to their website and this post.

  1. Sorry to hear about your trials with this dress. Well worth it though as it looks lovely. The fabric design looks very vintage in a 50’s way and the colour is fab on you.
I am another refugee from a mis-appropriated festival that I don’t celebrate, having had to put up with a lot of comments on my misanthropy over the years as I try to steer clear of the dreaded organised celebrations. Have to say that there were a lot less this year as many around me are also becoming a bit jaded. I really dislike the false bonhomie and crass commercialism especially in such a climate of austerity, but that is a different rant altogether. I do hope that you are taking the time out from the rat race to recharge and do things you love. Happy sewing time! 🙂 Xx

    1. Thank you so much. I am sure I will get a lot of wear out of it. My heart just wasn’t in sewing craft cottons in Winter! And thank you for sharing your thoughts on the festive season – I do feel so much less freakish through connecting with people on here and over on Instagram. I just don’t get what people are actually celebrating at Christmas (unless it’s Jesus which I have no truck with). False bonhomie and crass commercialism – you’ve have summed it up perfectly for me. I hope you are having a restful holiday and best wishes for the new year 🙂 x

    1. Thank you kindly Eimear – I was a little underwhelmed with it, even though it is a lovely flattering shape. It’s Winter – it’s got me screaming for warmth 🙂 Happy new year to you also! I look forward to following your sewing adventures in 2018 🙂 x
